FromSoil2Soul Healing
FromSoil2Soul is a regenerative healing practice that tends grief and nourishes spirit at the nexus of people and place. This intersectional approach is based in ancient and emergent wellbeing practices for soul-care, earth-care, and community-care.
Here, all forms of grief are met.
My orientation is reciprocal and deeply devoted to witnessing, resourcing, stewarding, and celebrating — where healing is symbiotic, and holistic. My trauma-informed approach applies cognitive, somatic, and nature-based practices to support individuals to regulate and replenish the nervous system by touching nature.
Let’s connect and get YOU resourced. Together we will slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover your place in the sacred web of life. Book a session below.

Devorah Brous
Grief Guide | Herbalist | Ritual Facilitator | 2x Nonprofit Founder
@Dev.Brous (she|her) is the Creator of FromSoil2Soul.
I weave mysticism and herbalism into grief tending, creating online and in-person spaces where loss, love, and renewal are held. My work draws on both ancestral and emergent wisdom to reimagine how grief, land-based ritual, and nature’s cycles can chart the way toward solace, and restore balance.
Through 1:1s, and collective healing rituals, I bring a deep curiosity for what becomes possible. I seek soulful collaborations that honor grief as sacred, with a commitment to lifting up pathways of collective liberation.
Having worked on the frontlines in a war zone for 15 years and experiencing deep grief, I’m trained at tending people through rupture & traumatic loss. Drawing from evidence-based research, I find that immersive healing & sensory-based practices are supportive after any loss, as they don’t require words to speak the unspeakable, or comprehend the incomprehensible. I offer 1:1 grief support and design collective healing rituals (Skirball Cultural Center in 2025, with 1400 people) as well as online Grief Garden gatherings that meet twice weekly.
For the past 25 years, I listen closely for ways to tend, as an herbalist, a ritualist, and a mama raising our family on an urban homestead. I am certified Compassionate Bereavement Care Counselor, a trained facilitator and mindfulness teacher, and a practitioner of citizen soil science.
Prior to forming FromSoil2Soul, I served as the founding Executive Director of two mission-driven environmental nonprofits: BUSTAN, and Netiya for a combined 18 years. A bridge-builder with systems-impacted and underinvested communities (indigenous, houseless, and formerly incarcerated people), I bring an undeniable passion for growing community stakeholder engagement through relationship-building, deep listening, and land stewardship.
I have two Masters degrees in Conflict Resolution and Development Studies, and have trained extensively on facilitation of non-hierarchical frameworks for culture change that center equity, belonging, and empowerment. Deeply committed to counter-oppressive organizing, I have trained with Maia Ferdman (Resetting the Table, Project Manager of UCLA’s Initiative to Study Hate). I have spent 15 years with Indigenous Bedouin; I’ve engaged in study of Council practice; Authentic Relating; as well as Non-Violent Communication (NVC); I have served as a coordinator for the Compassionate Listening Project in Israel/Palestine; and I have a Mindfulness Teacher Training certificate.
…I see grief in people and in landscapes as a dynamic and emergent force. Bearing Witness to Grief through Listening to People and Place supports transcendence. I call this work Soul Remediation — it serves as the bedrock of regenerative healing, FromSoil2Soul.

What is Soul Remediation?
From my experience as a Grief Guide, the state of the human psyche following a traumatic rupture is like "biologically barren" soil, devoid of the foundational elements—safety, trust, and resilience—needed for healthy emotional functioning.
Much the same, a post-fire landscape is "biologically barren," when the soil's intricate microbial communities are devastated. Scorched earth acts as a profound catalyst for renewal.
FromSoil2Soul is about supporting YOU in the sacred art of listening to the land, the water, and your seasons of grief. It’s about cleansing and replenishing you - like feeding the soil with carbon and oxygen so life force can cycle nutrients once again. When we work together, we sit with anguish to witness what is — without judgment. We tend to the mystical emergence of new life from within.
My job is to support you as you root down to rise. YOU are a Phoenix.
