Typically, we share for one hour. It is a ritual experience.
I listen. Deeply. You share. I drum. You sip my herbal tea. We sit still. We move with song. Or we do some other form of creative expression to move grief.
I work with individuals and groups to ease your journey. Together, we bridge chasms.
I guide ritual. And I hold space for whatever comes up for YOU.
We define goals and aim to deepen grief literacy. This is an intuitive relationship with the nature of your grief.
My approach to healing is relational and deeply focused on emotionally nurturing attunement. I believe we heal in connection and in the present moment. Many of my clients suffer from complex and intersecting experiences of complex trauma that significantly impacts their mental, physical, relational, and spiritual wellbeing.
If you’d like to hear directly from past clients, please review the Testimonials page.
Seeing folks shift out of fight or flight by learning to befriend the sensations inside and around their bodies is a powerful motivator for my work.
Sometimes it takes a great deal of patience and care and a certain level of containment, warmth, and discipline to build trust after intense trauma.
It’s not my intention to fix or cure or solve anything about you. In my work, it is my deepest hope to accompany you as you grow and change and move through so much more than just pain.

YOU are experiencing grief, to no end. Traumatic grief. Isolation.
You are exhausted from holding it together, yet afraid of falling apart if you stop performing strength.
You may be: a bereaved parent, daughter, auntie, or grandmother. A non-binary person or trans womxn navigating compounded layers of loss. A sensitive, intelligent human who feels the world deeply.
You seek to integrate loss in a meaningful way. You do not want to be told everything happens for a reason.
You long for permission to rest without guilt. You long for clear boundaries that protect you, and a community that understands sacred grief.
YOU seek embodied practices for regulating grief and clear boundaries to prevent further depletion.
YOU seek tools to build resilience for an uncertain future. Because you are tired of white-knuckling survival alone.
YOU are ready to look within, and grow, without spiritual bypassing or toxic positivity.
YOU are on a healing journey.

I use an interdisciplinary and client-centered approach. I tailor treatment plans to the unique needs of my clients, braiding many modalities together, theories, and wellness practices.
I strongly believe healing happens in connection. My orientation is trauma informed, and delivered through an ongoing process of informed consent.

FromSoil2Soul has distinct tiers for hourly services.
I ask my clients to commit to paying the highest affordable rate at this time, and we reassess financial sustainability at seasonal (3-month) intervals.
I offer a wide sliding scale as an effort to distribute services and resources equitably. I have limited sliding scale availability in my practice, and I prioritize ongoing clients. Sliding scale spots are for clients who would not be able to afford my full price rates.
Sliding Scale Rates:
My Rate - $220/hr
Friends/Family - $180/hr
Community-Care - $120/hr (4 spots available)
This reduced/student rate is a $100 reduction from my standard rate, which is the minimum sustainable fee for private 1:1 sessions.
All services are private-pay and the full payment is required before we begin our session(s). I accept all major credit cards through Stripe, Paypal, Venmo.

Self Assessment & Determining Your Rate
Respond to the following prompts with 'Yes' or 'No'
Are you or your family homeowners or landowners?
Do you have access to family money and resources in times of need? Do you have a safety net composed of “financially stable” or wealthy family and friends?
Do you have zero to no debt and/or do you have disposable income?
Does your income only support you, and not other loved ones?
Do you travel recreationally? Or regularly treat yourself to meals out, or new clothes?
Do you have high earning power (even if you aren't using it right now) from college degree(s), being able-bodied, or due to race, gender, social networks, and family connections?
If you answered no to almost all questions - choose Community-Care.
These reflection prompts are adapted and expanded from AORTA (Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Center). This self assessment is meant to be a guide, not a rule.
This sliding scale relies on honesty, accountability, and deep respect for the multiple realities of economic access that exists in our communities.
Please let me know if you have any questions when you reach out!

I require 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduled appointments. This policy applies to all services. Without 48 hours notice before a cancellation or rescheduled appointment, the session you booked will be billed in full at your agreed-upon rate.
If an individual client is over 15 mins late for a session without prior notice, the session is marked as a 'no show' and billed in full.
The first time an appointment is cancelled without notice, there is no additional cancellation fee. The second time, the fee is $50 on top of the agreed upon session fee itself.

In Session Hours occur between 9:30am-3pm PST on weekdays (Monday-Friday). I have very limited availability in the evenings and over the weekends. Please note, I do not provide 24-hour crisis services. If a life-threatening crisis should occur, contact a crisis hotline, call 911, or go to a hospital emergency room.
As an individual provider who is not in a group practice, I am generally in a session during working hours and unavailable outside of working hours.
If you are a current client of mine, you will have easy access to me through text, email, and What’sApp.
The easiest way to connect with me is to book a session.
If you are a new client, schedule a free consultation here.

Thank you for your interest in working together and for inquiring about more financially accessible sessions or offerings through my private practice, FromSoil2Soul.
My “low-bono rates” are extremely limited, and held for current clients. I share financial considerations below.
For many folks, it is more cost effective to access mental health services through their insurance provider. I am not paneled with insurance. I recommend reaching out to your insurance provider directly or searching by insurance on Psychology Today, Therapy Den, or Inclusive Therapists.
Financial Considerations for Individual Services
My sliding scale (outlined above) applies to individual grief tending services. I offer further reduced cost sessions that are held for long-term clients, or for individuals already enrolled in services through FromSoil2Soul. The rate for these reduced-cost sessions has a discount of up to 85% off my full price rates.
These low-bono spots are held exclusively for current and previous clients who are unable to afford their sliding scale rate. The intention behind offering these low-bono spots is to offer ongoing support to clients who wish to continue working together while navigating financial limitations. In addition, this offering of mutual aid to long-standing clients is intended to reduce the harms associated with discontinuing an affirming therapeutic relationship, especially when alternative mental health treatment options have been difficult to access.
Financial Accessibility of Groups
The Grief Garden group support that I offer twice weekly, independently, through FromSoil2Soul is also offered at a sliding scale. At times, group offerings include partial scholarships and pay-what-you-can financial structures.
I strive to simultaneously invest in building affordable services, including in-person and virtual groups, twice monthly events, and occasional trainings that are announced via my email newsletter and on Instagram @dev.brous.
Make sure you are subscribed and following along so as not to miss any of my most financially accessible offerings. If you have questions or are interested in learning more about the financial accessibility of any of my services, workshops, or groups - please do not hesitate to fill out this contact form.

While holding space for loss and burnout is the core pillar of my work, the FromSoil2Soul practice is built on the belief that grief often overlaps with major life transitions, and I support folks through:
Life Transitions & Thresholds: Navigating change, relationship shifts, collective climate anxiety, and identity evolutions.
Rituals for Creative & Spiritual Mentorship: Helping you move through blocks.
Legacy & Meaning-Making: Exploring how you want to live, what you want to replenish the soil of your inner terrain.
Emotional Resilience: Building the practical tools needed to navigate overwhelm, daily stress, burnout, and high-pressure situations.
We can work together to find clarity, balance, coherence, and integration.

Inspired by the Jewish agricultural tradition of pe’ah (tithing our harvests), I give pe’ah, 10% of my earned income, to support LA Fire Relief and more:
This includes 15 hrs per week of my time offering 1:1 grief support. So far this year:
-Six hours monthly for pro-bono grief tending with the Altadena Healing Village
-155 jars of FromSoil2Soul and Little City Farm “BREATHE EASE” distributed through Nourish LA
-Monthly FromSoil2Soul herbal tea to unhoused women and families through Worthy of Love
-FromSoil2Soul herbal teas to serve 300 people weekly through Ikar.
-Four slots monthly for Grief Tending at “low-bono” community-care rates.
-Grief Garden two hours per week pro-bono for up to 4 people, twice weekly.

Spiritual Bypassing
In all my offerings, I am committed to naming spiritual bypassing and weeding it out of the garden. According to Psychology Today, spiritual bypassing is “using ‘spiritual ideas and practices’ to sidestep personal, emotional ‘unfinished business,’ to shore up a shaky sense of self, or to belittle basic needs, feelings, and developmental tasks.”
Antiracism Daily asserts that Spiritual Bypassing acts as a deterrent when we are not ready to confront difficult emotions in our lives. However, it is also a common tool used to avoid acknowledging one’s privilege because doing so is inherently messy, painful, and requires continued awareness.
Privilege is the ability to step in and out of this content at leisure, without any difference in your capacity to move through society. Spiritual bypassing shows up so often in the wellness field that I feel it has warped into normalcy. It is ANYTHING but that and remain very vigilant.
